SIR TERRY FROST, RA

(1915-2003)

His work  is very popular today and it is not surprising as Sir Terry Frost is considered one of  Britain’s most distinguished abstract artists. His work aims to behold the joy of nature through the use of colour, shapes and texture.  His career spanned six decades.

Born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire he decided to become a painter at the end of World War II.  He attended Camberwell Scholl of Art and later St Ives School of Art in 1951.

Frost was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 1992 and was knighted in 1998.  A retrospective of his work was held by the Royal Academy in 2000 to coincide with his 85th birthday. His work has been exhibited and kept at the Tate Gallery and unsurprisingly can also be found in many private and public collections.
