DONALD MCCINTYRE, RCA
Born 1923
McIntyre's subjects include Scottish, and Welsh landscapes, in a strong colourist and post-impressionistic style showing the influence of 20th Century Scottish artists such as Cadell through to Redpath and Philipson and Michie.
Born in Yorkshire as a child moved to Scotland. Studied at Glasgow School of Art under James Wright at Garelochhead and now lives in North Wales. He has exhibited at the Thackeray Gallery, London and at the Royal Cambrian Academy where he is a member.
His paintings are in collections of H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh, Williamson Art Gallery, Newport Art Gallery, Welsh Arts Council, National Library of Wales, Welsh Contemporary Art Society, Anglesey & Caernarvonshire Education Authorities, University of Wales, Department of the Environment, British Steel Co, U.S.A Embassy, London and London University.
His works are highly popular with both Welsh and Scottish collectors and his
prices whilst still affordable continue to rise.
